PRESS RELEASE - APRIL 19TH 2011
The BERLIN MUSIC DAYS for 2011 is confirmed.
From 2nd – 5th November, the electronic music A-list will gather once more for the Berlin Music Days. Fly BerMuDa Festival at Berlin’s former Tempelhof Airport will be back for the second time on 5th November giving the Berlin Music Days its glorious finale.
Growth and demand:
We welcome another addition to the Berlin Music Days: all2gethernow.
All2gethernow is a platform and seminar for a modern, future-oriented
music industry and its associated culture. It took part in course of
last year’s Berlin Music Days and will join us again with their annual
general meeting.
“Gaining all2gethernow as a competent partner to broaden our content is a great acknowledgement of our work.” says Steffen Hack, managing director of the BerMuDa GmbH and founder of the club Watergate.
“The quality of electronic music does not define itself through production budget and experience. It suits perfectly our city because of its egalitarian artform. It is great that this symbiosis is celebrated for the third time at the Berlin Music Days. The basis to the sound of creative freedom will be discussed at the all2gethernow.” Tim Renner, management of all2gethernow e.V.
The Berlin Music Days -short BerMuDa- is clearly positioned as an independent Festival and is based on three pillars.
BerMuDays:
During the day the BerMuDays offer a comprehensive programme that includes workshops, panels, lectures, exhibitions and fashion events around electronic music and its associated culture.
BerMuNights:
At nights the BerMuNights rules the city's dance floors. Night owls and music enthusiasts won’t go home disappointed with all the label nights, showcases and top-notch party events in Berlin’s hottest clubs and locations.
FLY BerMuDa:
The grand finale at Berlin’s former Tempelhof Airport is the Fly BerMuDa on 5th November.
Its successful start in 2010 attracted the attention of over 10.000 music lovers from Germany and all over the world leaving them amazed until the early morning by high profile artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Booka Shade, Loco Dice and many more. This year’s closing ceremony will definitely leave no desires open.
Sven Väth about BerMuDa: “The BerMuDa festival is finally an electronic music festival for Berlin, that I have missed for a long time and thus I gladly support the event with my performance.”
Furthermore, the creators focus on closing the gaps.
“It is time to establish an authentic festival of electronic music at a place where it was and still is mainly shaped: Berlin. The city isn’t crowned as the world capital of electronic music for nothing. The club-tourists come to Berlin in droves and nowhere else can you find so many artists, booking agencies, clubs and labels from this genre. These favourable factors should be utilized to preserve and further establish Berlin’s economic standpoint for music so that its cultural landscape can flourish.” says Ulrich Wombacher, BerMuDa GmbH
Steffen Hack, managing director of BerMuDa GmbH, adds: “These four days offer music lovers a possibility to celebrate the whole spectrum of electronic music in a compact form and get a view behind the scenes. It also provides a chance for the makers of the scene to meet and exchange ideas in an unconstrained context.”
The creators fill the gaps with the diverse programme of the BerMuNights clubnights, the informative BerMuDays and the top-notch line-up at the Fly BerMuDa Festival.
