At each of its Jour Fixes, the Berliner Gesellschaft für Neue Musik (Berlin Society for New Music) examines a different area of the contemporary music production in the city.

In cooperation with TRESOR, one of the first and most famous techno clubs, this Jour Fix will focus on electronic music, which tries to oppose the often relentless commercialization. The socio-critical approaches and creative developments it displays in the process are commonly considered to be characteristic for the academic avant-garde. Although the conditions of production and reception are considerably different. The panel discussion will address the similarities and differences.  Later on, chambermusic fragments are to be put into new musical contexts in a live performance by Thomas Fehlmann (Kompakt, The Orb, Ocean Club).
